The transformation of ChoiceBatter--an ARS-developed, rice-flour-based batter that absorbs up to 50 percent less oil in deep-frying--from a federal laboratory bench technology to a grocery store product was spotlighted this week by ARS officials and other participants at the 17th annual conference of the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds. Arco Elementary PTS Seeks $150 in Help to Finance Pumkin Patch

The Arco Elementary PTA is sponsoring a “pumpkin patch” for kids in the grammar school. They have arranged an excellent price for pumpkins with Walmart in Blackfoot. The need to raise $150 to fund the activity. The PTA approached Horizons through LRED, and we immediately had several individuals offer to donate toward the project, and consequently felt that perhaps that would be the most appropriate way.

If you are willing to help fund the Pumpkin Patch project, please call or email the Horizons Steering Committee at 527-8587 or ccheyney@uidaho.edu.
