Free Health Care Compliance Seminar Aug 24-25

Are Offering a FREE Health Care Law Compliance Seminar
August 24-25, 2011 in Boise

This email is to information you that the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) and the Idaho Department of Insurance will host a free health law compliance assistance seminar on August 24 and 25 at the Boise Hotel and Conference Center, located at 3300 S. Vista Avenue, Boise, ID 83705.

The seminar is part of the Labor Department’s Health Benefits Education Campaign to assist small to mid-size employers, third party administrators, and insurers in complying with the Affordable Care Act, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the fiduciary responsibility provisions in the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other recent health benefits laws. 

Seminar attendees will receive a copy of the booklet, “Health Benefits Coverage Under Federal Law,” and other material.  The booklet also is available at, or by calling the EBSA toll-free at 866-444-3272.

Panelists will include representatives from EBSA, the Idaho Department of Insurance, the Labor Department’s Office of Wage and Hour Division, and the Internal Revenue Service.

Additionally, the Idaho Department of Insurance was able to secure CE credits for Agents and Brokers that are attending our seminar.  To obtain these credits, registrants will need to sign In and Out at our registration table on each day.  The ID DOI is also trying to secure CE credits for attorneys through the Bar Association, but at this time has not been able to do so.  I want to thank the ID DOI for offering to register our event for these credits.  For further information about the CE credits, please contact the ID DOI Licensing Division.
